Thomasville City Schools students and parents attended an informational session at Thomasville High School on September 12, 2019 entitled "Road to College" with guest speaker Angie Wilson from the Georgia Student Finance Commission. Information about career research, choosing a college, HOPE Scholarship programs, GPA calculation, and financial aid opportunities were discussed. A follow-up session will be offered in December 2019.
THS Parent Engagement Coordinator Allison Ponder planned the event, served refreshments, and awarded gift cards to parents in attendance through a drawing. Ucher Thomas-Dent won a $10 Walmart gift card, Samantha Williams won a 3 month free membership to Factor X Fitness, and Chrystal Harwood won a $25 Jonah's Fish and Grits gift card.
