Some of our third grade students at Scott Elementary participated in CoLab, a partnership with Thomasville Center for the Arts and Cross Creek Elementary. During this program, students work together to learn about ecosystems and natural communities in the environment. This last meeting was held at Gentian Creek Preserve and students were able to interact with animals from Tallahassee Museum. Last week Mrs. Cooper's class read the story “Where does food come from?” and learned that butter, milk, and ice cream come from cows. The students really enjoyed making their own butter in class and eating it on sliced bread.
