✨ Way to go, Second Grade! ✨
Our amazing Second Graders collected 311 cans for their kindness initiative! 🥫💛 Their generosity, teamwork, and big hearts made a BIG impact.
Through this effort, they didn’t just collect food, they collected opportunities to help families in need and showed what kindness in action truly looks like. Each can represents compassion, thoughtfulness, and the power of working together toward something meaningful.
We are so proud of these students for stepping up, giving back, and proving that even the smallest hands can make a huge difference in our community. Keep spreading kindness, Second Grade, you are making the world brighter one act at a time! 🌟

Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt is a middle-grade novel about a bright sixth-grader named Ally Nickerson who has dyslexia, which she hides through disruptive behavior to avoid being seen as "dumb". The story follows her journey as a new teacher, Mr. Daniels, recognizes her potential and helps her understand that "everybody is smart in different ways," teaching her to embrace her strengths and overcome her self-doubt. The book explores themes of learning differences, self-esteem, and the power of empathy and supportive educators.
5th grade students took some time to illustrate animals doing tasks they normally “couldn’t do.” They discussed the importance of giving their best and being kind to those that might think differently than them.
Way to go, 5th graders! Your creativity and thoughtful conversations truly shined. You showed that when we believe in ourselves, try our best, and treat others with kindness and respect, there’s no limit to what we can imagine or achieve. Keep thinking big and supporting one another. We’re so proud of you!

☀️Checking out our shadows today after learning about Punxsutawney Phil! ☀️
Students in Ms. Notaro and Mrs. Fiveash's class learned how Groundhog Day is connected to weather predictions and seasons, then headed outside to observe their own shadows. They talked about how the sun’s position changes shadow size and direction. They also compared their class predictions to Phil’s famous forecast. A great hands-on way to mix science, tradition, and a little winter fun!
