We’re kicking off the week with Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Culinary Specialist Michael DuBose at our 6–12 Campus as part of the 2026–2027 Culinary Innovation Program!
Michael is spending time with our school nutrition team and students, taking a closer look at our day-to-day operations and already helping make a few tweaks to improve efficiency while bringing new ideas, creativity and excitement to our food and menus.
We’re excited to learn, try new things and see what our team can cook up throughout this program!

To put their learning into action, students completed a hands-on Homeostasis Lab by balancing on one foot for two minutes! 🦶⏱️ Students observed how their bodies worked to maintain balance and stability while responding to changes and challenges.

Thomasville City Schools wants to make our families and community aware that beginning Monday and during the first part of the week, we will be conducting scheduled fire drills, safety drills, and preparedness activities on our grades 6–12 campus in coordination with local emergency response partners.
During this time, you may notice an increased presence of fire trucks, law enforcement vehicles, and other emergency response personnel in and around the campus.
Please know there is no emergency. These are planned activities designed to support preparedness and help our schools and emergency partners work together to maintain a safe learning environment for our students and staff.

Ms. Howell's science students put the Scientific Method into action during our Oreo Scientific Method Lab! Students made observations, developed hypotheses, tested different methods for separating an Oreo, collected data, and communicated their results—just like real scientists.
Of course, the best part came at the end... they got to enjoy eating their Oreos after completing the experiment! 😋
A special shout-out to Ms. Howell's Pre-AP Science students, who took the challenge to the next level by delivering one-minute presentations to persuade their classmates why their method was the best way to separate an Oreo. They supported their claims with evidence and practiced valuable public speaking skills.
